Bite Guard Therapy (Night Guard)
According to the Academy of Oral Medicine, clenching or grinding (Bruxism) of the teeth is a common activity that can occur during the day and at night. – AAOM-1/8/08.
If you suspect that you are clenching or grinding your teeth, it is important to be evaluated by the dentist for possible bite splint therapy. Common symptoms that are associated with Bruxism are Sore facial musculature (especially in the morning), sore or fatigued jaw, clicking or popping of the jaw, and significant tooth wear.
If you suspect you or a loved one is suffering from Bruxism, please do not hesitate to talk to us about possible Bite Guard therapy. Bite guard therapy is noninvasive, tolerated well, and is the cornerstone of first-defense treatment.
A bite guard will stabilize your bite and jaw, and as a result, will allow the jaw and muscles to rest while preserving the structure of your teeth.
